Jeanie Marie Buss was born in America. She is the owner and the president of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is the daughter of a California native, and was raised by an affluent family. The father of her Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon who later became the manager of the Lakers and other businesses related to sports. Following the divorce of her parents in 1972, she began to feel in a sense of being abandoned emotionally. She joined her family's business in the age of 19 and became the general manager of the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. Later, she founded in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional, roller-hockey club. In the beginning, she was vice-president for the Lakers prior to taking over the position of president of Great Western Forum. Buss her father passed away in 2013 which is when the Lakers were inherited from him by her as well as five of her siblings through an inheritance trust. Each of the siblings had the same number of votes. The Lakers named her president. Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also part-owner of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling association).
