Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a performer that was born in Newark, New Jersey on the 9th of August, 1963. Her parents are gospel superstars Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick also sings. Her mother and she began to sing professionally together at New Hope Baptist Church of Newark at the age of 15 years old. They performed the back vocals in Chaka Khans 1978 track Im Every Woman. She continued to offer backing vocals for Jermaine Jackson, Lou Rawls and her own mother. She also did a brief stint as a model appearing on the front cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. The year 1981 saw her begin working as a singer in the New York funk group Material. It was her high-quality vocal performance with this group that caught notice of major record companies including Arista. The year 1985 saw Whitney Houston's first album was one of the most successful debut albums of all time. Many hit songs, including Saving All My Love For You How Can I Tell You If It's Good to Love You as well as The greatest Love of All were released from the album, setting her up to smash the Beatles record with seven consecutive US number ones. The album was released in 1987 and has sold more than 25 million copies around the world. The Whitney sequel in 1987, featuring the singles What Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to build on the success of her debut album. However, it was it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her position as one of the world's most popular performers. While the film wasn't very well received, nor did her performance, the soundtrack to her Dolly Parton version I Will Always Love You hit the number one spot on both the singles and album charts across the US for months. The album sold over 44 million copies. The same year, she was married former New Edition star Bobby Brown with whom she has a single child Bobbi Kristina Brown, born in March 1993. It was about this time that her much documented substance abuse began. By 1996 she was a daily drug user.
Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she is employed by CNN as both a reporter, anchorwoman and political reporter. She hosted a variety of weekend programs for the network, such as Evans & Novak: Late Edition" as well as Inside Politics." She has previously worked for NBC and CBS. Bash is the recipient of many honors and awards. Elle magazine once listed her in the Women in Washington Power List. In her personal life she is a graduate of George Washington University is a loving mother to her sole son. She was married twice, and is now a single. Bash is a strong, independent and tough woman.
