Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz is her father and Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's mother and father also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to be Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents relocated her and their children to Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a consummate read and often spent her time studying books since she had no television. At the age of 12 Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. At the age of 15, Ryder landed her first part on screen, in Lucas. Ryder was bullied throughout her time in high school. She thought that by becoming an actor, her behavior would be changed. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. But she continued to pursue her dreams. Her biggest break was in 1988 when she appeared in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in various films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her performance as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
